    Hi, with my german original XP SP3 CD named to your *.iso
    Option; 3,5,7,8,A,C,D,E
    I get this message below.

    I tested with Prime95. No AVX.
    This may happen, because the ntoskrnl is from SP3 and not from last POSReady Update

      @Ramsey Hi Ramsey,
      I make nice fun just now:
      I install on the Asrock z370 k6 board in IDE mode an original XP SP3 from CD(!) and update it with all Posready Updates via

      https://legacyupdate.net/

      Then I install there all your drivers from Patch folder.
      And also I install freeldr.sys for Multiboot.
      All works.
      Now comes the fun:
      I take your nice xp.iso with settings for IDE and make a complete new install on harddisk.
      Customized Option; 3,5,7,8,A,C,D,E
      Install is less than 10min.

      Now I am going to check for differences.
      I will take best of both worlds😍
      and via whole registry I want to find out, why on yours freeldr not works and on mine AVX.
      I will write about results
      Dietmar

      @Dietmar Ok, first results:
      My size is 9.81 GB and yours 4.64 GB with pagefile disabled after Defrag.
      Boottime is exact the same

      Geekbench 2 on both about 20000, each 3 run.

      @Dietmar 2 things I can see:

      With the Big Ram Patch and the AVX Enabler only the via NTLDR booted XP
      shows the full big memory. And also the AVX patch does not work on freeldr.
      With the patched ntkrnlpa.exe XP boots also with freeldr,
      but shows memory < 4GB and no AVX

    Hi Ramsey
    Do you also have Windows 2003 Server Integral Edition among your ISOs ?
    Or, you have a link to download an updated version, if it exists ?
    Thanks for the reply😜

    Hi, could you please point me to a guide or otherwise some reference on how to insert in the Option Menu.cmd all the parameters for the correct integration of a driver into the XP iso? I mean, how do you identify the proper parameters to put in the dosnet.inf, txtsetup.inf and hivesys.inf files?
    • This commment is unpublished.
      Ramsey · 1 years ago
      @Andalu If you for example search for optKSATA or optMNVMe ... in the "Options Menu.cmd" file then this will guide you on how to add more drivers, you just have to copy and paste the code and change the names of it.
    • This commment is unpublished.
      Andalu · 1 years ago
      @Ramsey I mean the settings in dosnet.inf, txtsetup.sif and hivesys.inf like these:
      "FloppyFiles.1", "FloppyFiles.2", "Files", "SourceDisksFiles", "FileFlags", "SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\DRIVERNAME\Parameters\", etc.

      How do you choose which setting to put in the Option Menu in the section related to each driver?

      For example, regarding the line ".\Utilities\Fedit.exe" -add -f "%TempDir%\DOSNET.INF" -s "FloppyFiles.1" -l "d1,stornvme.sys" -once
      why did you use the setting "FloppyFiles.1" and not "FloppyFiles.2" as for another driver?

      Another thing: I noticed that although not selected in the Options Menu script v3.4.0, the Microsoft USB3.X xHCI driver v2.2 driver is installed however. During the XP installation, no other USB devices were connected to the motherboard, only the thumb drive. Here the image:

      @Andalu FloppyFiles Is to load the drivers at the F6 stage (CD Boot) and if not found then ask for Floppy Disk XYZ. It dose not matter where you put them, I only put them where Microsoft has put the other drivers. Like USB3 drivers to the USB2 driver floppy list and the SATA drivers to the IDE driver floppy list.
      Files Is to check if the file exits.
      SourceDisksFiles Is the copy processes of the file.
      FileFlags (16) Should be added for ever new Windows XP file except for *.inf files.
      Parameters Are all listed in the driver *.inf file if you search for "parameters".

      The good thing is that all the correct settings are already done and you only need to copy and paste them. 😃

      I also did try the options you selected but i cannot see that the USB3 driver is also added.
      Check if the ISO file didn't not had already an USB3 drive integrated. Sorting the file by date in the ISO file helps to get a better overview. 😉

      @Ramsey Thanks for the info. I have to find a way to install XP-IE by using a NVMe driver that seems to work only when installed as a replacement for another existing NVMe driver while it gives BSOD 7B on the first reboot after successful GUI-mode completion.

      Regarding the USB3 driver installation, you were right. These days I prepared too many XP ISOs and made a mistake, sorry.

    Some kind soul managed to create a replacement for the not-working ActiveX-based Windows Update client. Works with the latest release, and finds the Microsoft Update stuff, too.
    Maybe it's worth implementing this, for the next release?

    Dear Ramsey,

    How to deal with the "Extras" and the "Patch Integrator v3.4.0" folders? I've read that you should extract the iso and browse that folder with the "WinSetupFromUSB" program, but there is no mention what to do with those additional folders, how to approach them?

    Also I've (pre)downloaded the would-be Win XP PC drivers (audio chipset etc), in which way can I integrate them into the base install?
    • This commment is unpublished.
      Ramsey · 1 years ago
      @Bubo Simply click in the "Extras" folder on what you Need/Want to install in Windows XP. And the "Patch Integrator v3.4.0" will build you a new ISO file with the options you selected.

      And you can use nLite to integrate your drivers. But this will take a of your time.

    Thanks Ramsey for a great dev project! I had tons of trouble installing OEM XP on my T61, but this installed easily with only a few repairs. I was able to use Rufus 3.20 to burn (lol) to USB with 'list USB Hard Drives,' 'Add fixes for old BIOSes,' and 'Use Rufus MBR' checked *as well as* 0x81 selected.

    I've been looking through the your documentation and the comments here, but I don't see any user:password combinations for Admin control. Am I to delete passwords or gain control some other way? Sorry if I missed something! Cheers.

      @Taylor No password is set in WinXP-IE. You should better do a fresh installation, don't use it for repairing or upgrading an older Windows XP.

      @Ramsey I quick formatted the partition before installing. That's not enough for a fresh install? Thanks for the quick support!

      @Taylor Try to use the recommended tool WinSetupFromUSB for making a Windows XP Flash installation.

      @Ramsey I believe my issue was the Samsung 850 Pro SSD I was trying to install and boot from. I thought the old 2007 Lenovo hdd had problems, but I was able to install easily to that hdd. I'm surprised because the t61 booted so easily to vista, win7, 8, etc; I've formatted that poor ssd *so many times*
