    Hi Ramsey
What do I do to sign the security catalog file?
for the signature to work under Windows
I'm working with UpdatePacks x64 in Japanese.
My friends in Discord asked me to edit to their language.
Some important old renovations are missing them.
Microsoft deleted it and I had to edit the text box.
I'm worried about the SFC problem.

@MilkChan Checkout the file "Certificate Creator.cmd" in the Patch Integrator folder ".\Utilities\Signing Tools" it will do everything you need.

George King · 11 months ago
@Ramsey I don't think it will work. I wrote similar "Signer" tookit to sign files for XP2ESD. Only issue exist on 5.2 x86 / x64 - drivers are still marked as unsigned. Even CAT / SYS have in their properties correct digital signature.
On XP, Vista, 7, 8.0, 8.1, 10 are these signatures valid without issues.

I will try in future Canonkongs method on 5.2. But I think it will end in same resul. 5.2 system have something that I can't catch to show drivers as digitally signed.

@George King I never played around with NT5.2, but that's a weird problem. Did you try to sign the file with SHA1 instead of SHA2?
    • This commment is unpublished.
George King · 11 months ago
@Ramsey Only SHA1 without timestamp for 5.x to be sure. I have discussed same thing with Fernando. His certificate si broken and always mark drivers as unsigned. He got my Signer toolkit and started resigning them with correct ones to fix everything except 5.2.

@Ramsey, If you PM me on MDL, I can send you more detailed info.

@Ricardo Jose If you tested a lot of different browsers, perhaps you can recommend one that respects user privacy?
It's ok for me if antiprivacy sites doesn't work. Bad sites (and cloudflare backbone) are often designed to fail those browsers with a note to switch to "modern" browsers.
Among regular browsers OtterBrowser and TOR is best at user privacy but TOR isn't backported.
Snakeoil-browsers BRAVE, Iron and anything based on Chrome or Mozilla is not even close.

Hey! This stupid integrated edition does not even support IDE Hard Drives!!!!!!!
    :-O
I just tried installing it with a regular IDE hard disk on a MB with IDE and SATA.
This stupid WinXP edition does NOT RECOGNIZE IDE HARD DISKS!!!!
I tried my old WinXP SP3 Corporate Edition and the problem immediately went away!
What kind of a STUPID build is this that does not even recognize IDE Hard Disks during installation? :-(

      Ramsey · 1 years ago
      @TylerDurden With such a comment i don't think it's a technical problem. 😁
Simply remove your SATA drives with the "Patch Integrator" script from the WinXP-IE ISO file.

      TylerDurden · 1 years ago
@Ramsey I don't have any SATA drives, only a SATA optical drive. Might that cause the problem?
I was under the (false) assumption, that the vanilla edition would install flawlessly on standard hardware such as a Gigabyte board with 2 IDE drives and a SATA DVD RW.
If I have to learn how to modify this version of XP so it even installs, that means a lot of time to invest. Maybe I should just install the Corporate SP3 Pro edition that I used to use.
      But thanks for the reply.

      Ramsey · 1 years ago
@TylerDurden Yes, the per-included SATA drivers is not a grantee that they always work on every single computer. That's why the included "Patch Integrator" script gives you the option to remove them from the ISO file or replace them with a backported Win7/8 SATA driver.

@Ramsey Oh! I see! Sorry in that case. My bad. I was entirely ignorant of the fact that Windows XP x86 will not install flawlessly out of the box on motherboards that have SATA ports. What really gets me right now is this: I tried installing XP x86 from an original installation CD (Corporate Edition). With the hard disks set to "IDE Mode" in the BIOS, it can read the installation CD from a SATA DVD RW, then it sees the IDE hard disks, then it copies all the OS files from the CD onto the hard disk, and then, when it's supposed to reboot and load Windows off of the hard disk for the first time it complains "No bootable operating system present". Isn't that weird?
So it sees the IDE hard disk, it can read from a SATA DVD drive, but then, when Windows is installed on the IDE hard disk, it can't boot from that.
Is that all possible just because of SATA? Even if the hard disks are old IDE drives and not SATA? And despite the fact that in BIOS I explicitly set the hard disk mode to "IDE" instead of "AHCI"?
I always thought the "SATA / RAID Preinstall Drivers" that require a floppy disk during installation are only if you want to set up a RAID and boot Windows from that, or if you at least want to boot from a SATA hard disk!
In my case, I am trying to boot from a non-RAID normal old IDE hard disk, connected on a single IDE motherboard connector, and it still seems to not work.
Is it possible that internally, in the motherboard the IDE connector is hooked up to a SATA controller? And that "IDE" mode is simply not working as it should in this case?
Because that's the only explanation I have at this time for this behavior...
